Frameworks can spark heated debates among developers, like choosing teams in sports. We often get attached to what they use, and that’s fine. But sometimes, it gets a bit too competitive. Maybe admitting “I don’t know” and being open to different solutions is the way to go.
After all, both Symfony and Laravel have their own strengths, and people are building cool stuff with both.

Over the last decade I’ve taken part in many dev meetups and conferences. The biggest divide and the most toxicity towards the developers in the same community seems to be in the PHP community. PHP was my first programming language and it is sad to see how people tend to split the community that is getting smaller and smaller every day with other languages taking over. Defensibility and overcomplicating the ideas borrowed from the other languages combined with skepticism and general hate towards other languages is what made me switch language and community. Hope that changes over time but in the last 10 years that has been the case for me.
