So here’s my little story.
A while back I got little deflated juggling browser tabs, flaky airport Wi-Fi, and tutorial videos that needed the one thing we all love (fast stable internet). In a moment of “how hard can it be?” optimism, I decided to write a little offline tool just for me to practise Python basics.
Naturally, I built it in Python.
Because recursion is funny until you’re knee-deep in packaging errors at 2 a.m.
The plan was simple:

Throw together a minimal PyQt window.

Drop in some beginner lessons and an integrated code editor and terminal.

Profit (in knowledge, not actual money). Lol’s…

Reality check:
PyInstaller turned into a mid level boss fight. (.spec files) Not my first love…
But every time I fixed a crash or finally nailed a cross-platform bug, it felt like unlocking a secret level. Somewhere along the way I realised: hey, this might help other people too. So I kept polishing, added tiny projects, wrote friendlier error messages, and tried to make the whole thing feel like a cool space to learn in.
Now it’s alive and kicking as Learn Python Offline runs on Windows and Mac, no internet needed, no accounts, no subscriptions, just Python fundamentals in a tidy desktop app.
I’m kinda terrified to share it (first-time-solo-dev nerves are real), but I’m also ridiculously stoked. If you’re curious or just want to see what one sleep-deprived dev can cobble together that would be pretty awesome.
And if you’re sitting on your own “silly” idea: build it anyway. Break stuff, curse politely, learn, repeat. You’ll surprise yourself.
I know I did.

I remember trying to build an app using tkinter and it made me sweat so bad 😭 you build that while thing on PyQT I mean good dam bro respect 🫡.

It looks like Codecademy, I think you know it, but I like it.
