A hands-on benchmark comparison of Java performance across multiple single-board computers including Orange Pi 5 Ultra, Raspberry Pi 5, Raspberry Pi 4, LattePanda IOTA, BeagleV-Fire, and StarFive VisionFive 2 Lite. The author built a JBang-based benchmark runner using the Renaissance Benchmark Suite, covering seven workloads (actor concurrency, fork/join parallelism, K-Means, genetic algorithms, stream processing, and in-memory databases). Results show Orange Pi 5 Ultra (ARM RK3588) leads among traditional SBCs, with Raspberry Pi 5 a close second. RISC-V boards are viable but lag behind ARM. The benchmark tool and an interactive dashboard are publicly available on GitHub.
