How we scaled Reads On the Twitter Users Database

Twitter scaled the reads on their Users Database by using Vitess, an open source database solution for scaling MySQL. They moved the Vtgate component out of the MySQL servers to achieve high read scalability and used Apache Mesos for running containerized applications.
