macOS 14 (Sonoma) and newer supports Touch ID for sudo commands. Enable it by copying the template file `/etc/pam.d/sudo_local.template` to `/etc/pam.d/sudo_local` and uncommenting the `auth sufficient pam_tid.so` line. This only works locally (not over SSH), and by default doesn't work during screen recording—though that limitation can be bypassed with a defaults write command.
