Over the past few months AI dev tools like ChatGPT and Copilot have become a major part of my workflow and have been especially useful for learning new languages.
I’ve found these tools are extremely helpful at the learning stage and can explain elementary concepts and syntax very well. They also are a major lift if you’re writing tedious code segments.
However, once you’re working on more complex problems they become useless at best and destructive at worst. I wish that sometimes they would just say “I don’t know” instead of outputting some entirely wrong information (referencing libraries or functions that don’t exist, etc.).
