To start effectively, focus on understanding basic data structures and algorithms, and practice solving problems consistently. Start with easy problems and gradually tackle medium-level ones. Utilize available resources, avoid rushing through problems, and learn from each solution. Consistent practice and revisiting old problems help retain knowledge and improve problem-solving skills.

Just a thought or my experience not any judgement on DSA
A few days ago, I was working on some funnel logic and writing a SQL query to map user data. I created a BigQuery script, and it was working fine. Then my manager came by and asked how we would add new data points to a single funnel node.
At first, I was confused—what does a “node tree” have to do with this? To me, it was just a simple SQL query to extract data. Even if we added more events for better tracking in the funnel, I didn’t see how the concept of nodes was relevant.
Later, I realized the connection: the idea of trees and leaves in data structures (DSA) helps model these kinds of scenarios more elegantly. It clicked for me that understanding DSA isn’t always a blocker—you can build almost anything without it—but problems like this make you appreciate why it’s useful.
