Helios is a trustless Ethereum light client written in Rust by a16z. A light client can participate in the blockchain network without having to run powerful hardware. Helios uses an authenticated state root from the consensus layer. Comparing it to the untrusted execution layer RPC, Helios can locally verify the data.
