Stripe Radar now includes a one-click free trial abuse prevention feature powered by an AI model trained on payment instrument, device, and payment history data across Stripe's network. The tool detects abusive behaviors like repeated trial signups and invalid payment methods with 90% accuracy. Free trial abuse has grown 6.2x from November 2025 to February 2026, with AI companies being disproportionately targeted due to expensive compute costs. In its first two months, the feature blocked over 550,000 high-risk trials across four AI businesses, preventing an estimated $4.4 million in losses. The solution is available to all businesses, not just AI companies.
