If you're running R projects on Ubuntu Focal Fossa (20.04), you can use Posit's Public Package Manager manylinux_2_28 repository to install binary R packages. This is particularly useful since Focal Fossa is out of support and its dedicated repository has been removed. The manylinux_2_28 packages work on Focal because it ships with glibc 2.31, which meets the minimum requirement of 2.28.
