Home Assistant has a reputation for being difficult, but much of that intimidation is unwarranted once you get past the initial learning curve. YAML scripting is entirely optional — the web UI now supports drag-and-drop dashboard building and trigger-action automations without any code. The Home Assistant Community Store (HACS) provides integrations for unsupported devices, and organizing dashboards into groups or multiple views helps reduce overwhelm. Recent updates have made the platform more beginner-friendly than ever.
