ByteDance launched Seedance 2.0, an AI video generator that creates 15-second videos from text prompts. Hollywood organizations including the Motion Picture Association and SAG-AFTRA are condemning the tool for enabling widespread copyright infringement, with users creating videos featuring real actors and Disney characters without authorization. Disney has sent a cease-and-desist letter accusing ByteDance of hijacking its intellectual property, while the MPA demands immediate cessation of infringing activity.
