Oracle has released Helidon 4.4.0, its Java microservices framework, with several notable changes. The project will align its versioning with the OpenJDK six-month release cadence, transitioning to Helidon 27 when JDK 27 ships in September 2026. Helidon is now included in the new Java Verified Portfolio (JVP), Oracle's curated set of validated Java tools. New features include expanded Helidon Declarative capabilities built on Helidon Inject, a new Helidon JSON processing library optimized for virtual threads that uses compile-time code generation to avoid runtime reflection, and enhanced LangChain4j integration with agentic AI support including workflow orchestration and dynamic supervisor agents.
