Handling JavaScript dates without auxiliary libraries is a big headache.

I love using date fns alongside some home made utility functions.
The format distance from now method is just too cool

The date issues will always be something real in the developer world I think, there are some concepts we just need to study insted of appling them and expect to just work.

Tue Dec 28 2021 returns week 53 by the custom code but it should be week 1 according to ISO.
Why have such a thing…
So we have two week 1 in 2021… How does this even make sense…
Week 53 seems to be more logical answer here

Personally, I try to avoid date-fns. From my experience, the native Intl.DateTimeFormat is better. It is lighter because already integrated. It is also more localized since date-fns does mistakes due to the way to describe the format.
