The April 2026 Haiku activity report covers commits hrev59570–hrev59671. Key highlights include a major MIME sniffer overhaul delivering up to 10x speedup in package build stages, BWindow shortcut lookups switched from flat arrays to trees for faster performance, media mixer startup now delayed until an application actually connects (saving CPU and battery), and 128-bit long double support added to libroot's math routines fixing ARM64 crashes. ARM64 saw significant progress with basic SMP support working in QEMU and out-of-the-box binary package builds. Other work spans Tracker fixes, Bluetooth stack socket leak fixes, BFS live-query notification improvements, BTRFS enhancements, a new zydwifi driver import, build system fixes including GCC2 compatibility with GCC14+, and various application and kit bug fixes. Beta6 is not yet ready, pending a WebPositive release and additional bug fixes.
