Bitcoin Depot, operator of over 25,000 Bitcoin ATMs worldwide, disclosed a security breach discovered on March 23, 2026, in which attackers gained unauthorized access to its IT systems and stole approximately 50.9 Bitcoin (~$3.665 million) from company-controlled wallets. The breach was contained to the corporate environment and did not affect customer platforms or data. The company activated incident response protocols, engaged external cybersecurity experts, and notified law enforcement. Insurance coverage may not fully offset the losses. This follows a separate 2024 data breach that exposed personal information of nearly 26,000 customers.
