Kyrgyzstan-based cryptocurrency exchange Grinex suspended operations after a $13.7 million hack targeting Russian users' wallets. The exchange, believed to be a rebrand of sanctioned Russian platform Garantex, blamed 'Western intelligence agencies' for the attack, claiming it was aimed at undermining Russia's financial sovereignty. Blockchain analysis firms Elliptic and TRM Labs tracked stolen funds moving through TRON and Ethereum addresses via the SunSwap protocol. A second hack was also discovered at TokenSpot, another Kyrgyzstan exchange linked to Grinex. No technical evidence was provided to support the attribution to Western intelligence services.
