Gram is a new fork of the Rust-based Zed code editor that strips out all AI/LLM integrations, collaboration/chat features, telemetry, and account requirements. Developer Kristoffer Grönlund created it partly because he disagreed with Zed's Terms of Service (which included age restrictions and anti-reverse-engineering clauses) and opposes AI integration in editors. Notably, Zed Industries updated its terms the same day Gram went public. Gram currently requires users to compile it from source, and it is not the first stripped-down Zed fork — Zedless preceded it.
