Grafana Labs has acquired Logline, a startup specializing in high-cardinality log search, to address a key limitation in Loki: slow queries for highly unique values like UUIDs in large datasets. Logline introduces a new indexing approach over object storage that dramatically reduces data scanned during needle-in-the-haystack searches. Early benchmarks show a 99.7% reduction in data scanned for UUID queries (from 3.5 TB to 8 GB). The feature is available in Grafana Cloud Logs in limited private preview, with Loki OSS support planned for the next major release. The acquisition was announced at GrafanaCON 2026.
