Gradle, JetBrains, and Google have partnered to create an official Gradle Best Practices guide, born out of a 2024 summit between the three companies. The guide addresses the common pain point of Gradle's flexibility leading to confusion, suboptimal builds, and maintenance issues. It launches as an MVP with about a dozen best practices structured around a 'Do This, Not That' framework. Future plans include expanding the guide, involving the community, and providing in-IDE assistance with intelligent completions and inspections for Gradle builds.
