Both models are optimized for long-running agentic tasks including coding, computer use, and research. GPT-5.5 excels at agentic coding and large-context work, while GPT-5.5 Pro targets multi-step, quality-sensitive workflows in business, legal, and technical research. Access is via the AI SDK using model identifiers `openai/gpt-5.5` or `openai/gpt-5.5-pro`. Vercel AI Gateway also provides unified API access, usage tracking, observability, failover, and intelligent provider routing.
