Google announced several new AI-powered security agents at Google Cloud Next, including a Threat Hunting agent, a Detection Engineering agent, and a Third-Party Context agent, all in preview. The Triage and Investigation agent, launched last year, is now generally available and reportedly reduced alert analysis time from 30 minutes to 60 seconds. Alongside offensive security agents, Google and Wiz introduced tools to govern the agents themselves: an AI Bill of Materials (AI-BOM) for AI-generated code, inline security hooks for IDEs, a Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform for identity and access management, and an Agent Gateway for policy enforcement across agent-to-agent and agent-to-tool connections. The overarching strategy, framed as 'use AI to fight AI,' reflects the industry-wide shift toward agentic, machine-speed defense as attackers also leverage AI to accelerate attacks.
