The Kotlin Foundation is participating in Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2026, offering students and eligible contributors the chance to work on real Kotlin open-source projects with mentorship from experienced engineers. Four projects are available this year: a Kotlin Compiler Fuzzer, Swift-to-Kotlin interop proof of concept, tail call support in Kotlin/Wasm, and a Kotlin Education landscape report. The contributor application period runs until March 31, with coding starting May 25. Non-students can also explore the Kotlin Ecosystem Mentorship Program.
