Google is expanding its Personal Intelligence feature to all US users for free, after previously limiting it to paid subscribers.
The feature lets Gemini pull context from your Google services - Gmail, Google Photos, and others - to give more personalized responses. Practical uses include shopping recommendations based on your history, vacation planning that references hotel confirmation emails, and suggestions informed by past photos.
It’s available in AI Mode in Search, the Gemini app, and Gemini in Chrome, which is also rolling out more broadly. A few restrictions: it only works with personal Google accounts, not Workspace accounts.
Importantly, it’s opt-in and off by default - you have to explicitly enable it.
