Google's native Windows app outperforms Microsoft Copilot in several key areas. The Google app uses a lightweight Alt+Space launcher that stays out of the way, integrates directly with Google Drive and Tasks, supports screen sharing and drag-and-drop file uploads, and feels genuinely native. In contrast, Copilot suffers from fragmented branding (two separate apps), a PWA wrapper that's resource-heavy, and poor integration with Microsoft's own tools like To Do. The author argues Google has built a more fluid, Spotlight-like experience on Windows than Microsoft has managed on its own platform.
