Google Chrome will ship new major versions every two weeks starting with version 153 in September 2026, doubling the pace of its current four-week cycle.

Google announced Chrome will move from a four-week to a two-week major release cycle starting with version 153 on September 8, 2026. Individual releases will be smaller to minimize disruption. Enterprise users will retain the eight-week extended stable channel. Since Edge, Brave, Opera, and other Chromium-based browsers typically follow Chrome's cadence, they may adopt a similar schedule. ChromeOS will also eventually move to the faster cycle.
