Google is expanding Android's AI-powered scam protection features across more devices and regions. Scam Detection for phone calls, powered by Gemini's on-device model, is being extended to Samsung Galaxy S26 series in the US, in addition to existing Pixel support across 12 countries. Google Messages scam detection now covers 20+ countries and multiple languages. Enhanced Gemini on-device models on flagship devices improve detection of sophisticated scams like job offer fraud and romance baiting ('pig butchering'). All processing stays on-device to preserve privacy, and the feature is opt-in by default.
