Google DeepMind Partnerships in India: scaling AI in science and education

Google DeepMind is launching a National Partnerships for AI initiative in India, collaborating with government bodies and local institutions to advance scientific research and education. Key efforts include providing Indian researchers access to AI tools like AlphaGenome, AI Co-scientist, and Earth AI through a partnership with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, alongside a $30 million Google.org Impact Challenge for AI in science. On the education front, Gemini-powered tools are being deployed across 10,000+ schools via Atal Tinkering Labs, two million textbooks are being transformed into interactive AI-powered experiences, and Indic language AI research is being funded at IIT Bombay. Additional partnerships target agriculture resilience and renewable energy forecasting, including WeatherNext integration showing up to 8% improvement in wind generation forecast accuracy.
