Google Axion powers Cloud SQL and AlloyDB

Google Axion processors, custom-built Arm-based CPUs, have significantly enhanced Cloud SQL and AlloyDB performance, offering 50% better price-performance than previous instances. Axion C4A virtual machines also provide substantial advantages for high-performance database and machine learning workloads, boasting up to 65% better performance compared to x86 instances. Major companies like Spotify and Palo Alto Networks have reported significant efficiency improvements and cost reductions using Axion-based infrastructure. The processors are now available in 10 Google Cloud regions, with plans to expand further.
