Google Authenticator Flaw Inadvertently Facilitated $15 Million Theft

A cryptocurrency firm, Fortress Trust, disclosed a theft of $15 million following a cyber attack. A design flaw in Google Authenticator led to a series of incidents across multiple firms before the theft. Last week, 4 Fortress customers were impacted by a third-party vendor whose cloud tools were compromised.
