Godot Engine 4.7 dev 5, the final development snapshot before stable release, has landed. Key additions include an overhauled asset store with improved browsing and version management, inline text shader previews via a C++ implementation of the Shader Previewer add-on, and rectangular area light sources (AreaLight3D) for real-time 3D lighting. The release also includes a reworked export template dialog, RichTextLabel image scaling relative to font size, and 135 fixes from 71 contributors. The project has entered feature freeze, and testers are encouraged to report issues on GitHub before the stable release.
