A few weeks ago I shared godman here on daily.dev.
It is a terminal tool that installs, manages, and activates Godot Engine builds on Windows and Linux.
Since then I shipped a few updates and I want to share what is new.

<h2>WinGet support</h2>
godman is now available on WinGet.
If you are on Windows you can install it with one command.

No manual downloads, no PATH setup. It just works.
<h2>Linux install script</h2>
For Linux there is now a one-liner install script.

It downloads the latest release, extracts it to <code>~/.local/bin/</code>, and you are ready to go.
<h2>Checksum validation</h2>
Every download now computes a SHA-256 hash and stores it in the registry.
You can see the checksum when you run <code>godman list</code>.
This was a missing piece that I wanted from the start.
<h2>Fetch cache</h2>
The <code>fetch</code> command now caches results from the GitHub API.
The cache lasts 24 hours so you do not hit rate limits when browsing versions.
If you need fresh data you can use <code>--no-cache</code>.
When you are offline it falls back to the last cached data.
<h2>Dry-run for remove</h2>
The <code>remove</code> command now supports <code>--dry-run</code> so you can preview what will happen before you delete anything.
This was already available for <code>install</code> and <code>activate</code> and now it covers removal too.
<h2>More tests</h2>
I added end-to-end tests using Spectre.Console.Testing.
There are now 23 E2E tests on top of unit and integration tests.
This makes it easier to refactor without breaking things.
<h2>Bug fixes</h2>
A few things were fixed along the way.
The download URL builder had issues with DotNet editions on Windows and Linux. Both are resolved now.
<h2>What is next</h2>
I am looking into Steam detection so godman can discover Godot installs managed by Steam.
I also want to rework the TUI into a panel-based layout similar to lazygit.
And Fedora COPR packaging is on the list so you can install with <code>dnf</code>.
