God Damn AI is making me dumb

A developer reflects on how relying on AI tools for writing and coding over the past year or two has noticeably degraded their own skills. They describe forgetting how to code after exclusively using AI prompts, feeling that AI-generated text doesn't sound like them, and recognizing that self-doubt and imposter syndrome make it tempting to lean on AI even more. They are now deliberately relearning to code by hand and chose to write this post without AI assistance.
