Grupo Globo, Latin America's largest media group, migrated from Cassandra to Bigtable for their streaming service. The migration process included porting code, enabling duplicate writing in both databases, data migration using Dataflow, and validating the migration with Diffy. The rollout was done gradually until 100% of GET requests were served by Bigtable. The migration resulted in cost savings, improved performance, scalability, and reliability.
