GitLab has released versions 18.10 and 18.11 of its DevSecOps platform with three major changes. First, automated code reviews are now priced at a flat $0.25 per review regardless of merge request size, compared to $15–$25 per review charged by competitors using token-based models. Second, free-tier users on GitLab.com can now access the Duo Agent Platform by purchasing GitLab Credits, allocated at the group level rather than per seat. Third, version 18.11 introduces hard monthly spending caps — billing managers can set subscription-wide limits and admins can set per-user credit limits — addressing unpredictable AI spend. Additional features include SAST false positive detection for Ultimate customers and a new Vertex AI integration for Google Cloud users. Community reaction is mixed, with some users concerned about the phasing out of Duo Pro and Duo Enterprise seat-based licenses in favor of the credits model.
