GitHub launched the MCP Registry as a centralized hub for discovering and deploying Model Context Protocol servers from partners like Figma, Postman, HashiCorp, and Dynatrace. The registry solves discovery problems by providing a single, trusted source for MCP servers that enable AI agents to interact with external systems. GitHub's Remote GitHub MCP Server also reached general availability with enhanced OAuth 2.1 authentication and expanded capabilities including the Copilot Coding Agent for autonomous development tasks.
