GitHub has just launched a free plan that is available only for VS Code.
I guess this is a result of the massive competition going on in the industry right now. VS Code is being forked by startups to build their own AI powered IDE.
Backed by Microsoft, GitHub is able to push the competition aside.

It’s great news, but I feel that from now on, all confidential code might also be accessed by AI and controlled by big tech companies, which isn’t a good thing.
