GitHub Copilot in VS Code now offers an Auto mode that automatically selects the most appropriate AI model for your task. When enabled, Copilot chooses from its growing list of supported models based on undisclosed criteria, with the selected model displayed at the bottom of responses. Auto mode may select premium request models but applies a 10% discount when doing so, and only uses models with a maximum 1x multiplier.
