GitHub Copilot app has entered technical preview as a GitHub-native desktop application for agentic development. It lets developers start sessions from existing GitHub artifacts like issues and pull requests, work in isolated sessions with their own branches and task state, and ship changes through the standard PR review process. Key features include Agent Merge (which can address review comments, fix failing checks, and auto-merge), an integrated terminal and browser for validation, and the ability to automate repeatable workflows. Copilot Pro/Pro+ users can sign up for early access, while Business and Enterprise subscribers will get access as rollout continues.
