PanicLock is an open-source macOS menu bar utility that instantly disables Touch ID and locks the screen with a single click, keyboard shortcut, or lid close. It addresses the gap where macOS has no built-in way to quickly disable biometric authentication — useful in situations where law enforcement or border agents could compel a fingerprint unlock. The app uses a privileged helper (SMJobBless) to set the Touch ID timeout to 1 second via bioutil, then restores original settings after unlock. It is fully offline, code-signed, and open source under the MIT license.
