<p>I get where the author is coming from. If this is the scenario you find yourself in, jj seems nice. On the other hand, I found the scenario a little constructed. Why care about the exact position of commit? As long as the test commit is before the instigating change, all is fine. Commit to the trunk, rebase, and be done. The stash issue, I get, but in the end it is such a minor inconvenience.</p>
<p>I personally think the tools to rewrite git history are so rudimentary, because you are not intended to do it all the time. Messing to much with the history is a recipe for pain.</p>
