Git 2.42 release: Here are four of our contributions in detail

Git 2.42 was released with improvements such as preventing certain refs from being packed, getting machine-readable output from `git cat-file --batch`, passing pseudo-options to `git rev-list --stdin`, and making code and test improvements.
