GIMP finally made me switch to this free alternative, and I'm not going back

A personal account of switching from GIMP to Photopea as a daily image editor. While GIMP 3.0 and 3.2 brought UI improvements, the author finds its interface still fragmented and hard to build muscle memory with. Photopea, a free browser-based editor built by a single developer, mirrors Photoshop's layout and logic, covers GIMP's core features (Clone Stamp, Healing Brush, Channels panel, Actions), and offers a more cohesive user experience without being open-source.
