Claude Skills are markdown-based workflow definitions that enable Claude Code to execute multi-step tasks automatically. Neon built a plugin containing four Skills (for Drizzle ORM integration, serverless driver setup, API management, and documentation access) plus an MCP server for API interactions. Skills sit between simple commands and autonomous subagents, offering structured yet flexible workflows that Claude invokes contextually. The plugin is available in Claude Code's marketplace and demonstrates how to package reusable developer workflows with runtime API access.
