I’m sorry but this paragraph is hilarious…
“Rather than having to open (SSMS) SQL Server Management Studio learn how to view stored procedures for an entire server by database with the following Windows Forms utility project along with a console project which shows how to get these stored procedures without a user interface.” (by building a new interface in Windows Forms?)
All you need to do is:
<ol>
<li>Open up SSMS and connect to your dev server</li>
<li>Expand the dev database in Object Explorer</li>
<li>Expand Programmability -&gt; Stored Procedures</li>
<li>Done!</li>
</ol>
… and you get to read the procedure with proper syntax highlighting.
Or if that’s “too much effort” feel free to build an entire WinForms project in .NET. You’ll still need the relevant permissions to view the stored procedure code whichever route 😉
