The German games market grew 4% in 2025 to €9.4 billion, according to the German Games Industry Association. Hardware revenue led growth, rising 12% to €3.4 billion, boosted by the Nintendo Switch 2 launch (consoles up 26% to €1 billion) and the ROG Xbox Ally (gaming PCs up 7% to €651 million). Online gaming services surpassed €1 billion for the first time, more than doubling since 2019. Meanwhile, individual game sales dipped 1% to €5 billion, reflecting a broader shift toward long-running live-service titles and in-game purchases over new game purchases.
