Microsoft has announced the General Availability of Social Identity Provider (IdP) support for Native Authentication in Microsoft Entra External ID. Developers can now integrate Google, Facebook, and Apple sign-in into native and single-page applications. Social authentication is handled via a browser-delegated (web-view) flow to comply with OAuth provider requirements, while the initial sign-in/sign-up screens remain native within the app. Post-social steps like MFA via Conditional Access also occur within the delegated flow. A future release will bring fully native UX for post-social authentication steps.
