Springing from the theme of "Connecting the World through Games," the concert featured music from all corners of the gaming world, with lots of surprises and special guests.

GDC Festival of Gaming

A live concert held at GDC 2025 celebrating video game music and the global game development community. Hosted by composer Austin Wintory, the event featured live performances of music from games including Eternal Strands, Monaco, Helldivers 2, Chrono Cross, Hades 2, Mass Effect 2, and Final Fantasy 16. Guest composers Will Roer and Darren Korb joined the stage, along with vocalist Ashley Barrett and actor Ben Starr. The host reflected on GDC as a place for genuine human connection rather than networking, encouraged first-time attendees to relax and make friends, and acknowledged the industry's difficult recent years of layoffs and studio closures while celebrating the games that still shipped.
