A hardware hobbyist built a GameCube bot using a Raspberry Pi Pico that records controller inputs to an SD card in the DTM (Dolphin TAS Movie) format. The device can play back recorded inputs on a real GameCube or in the Dolphin emulator. While not precise enough for tool-assisted speedruns due to optical drive read errors causing desyncs, it serves as a useful tool for capturing and analyzing gameplay.
