InfluxData and Litmus have announced a strategic partnership to modernize industrial data infrastructure. Litmus Edge provides 250+ prebuilt connectors to OT systems (PLCs, SCADA, CNC, sensors) and handles data normalization and contextualization at the edge, while InfluxDB 3 Enterprise serves as the centralized time series data hub. Together they address limitations of legacy data historians — poor context retention, high-frequency ingest bottlenecks, and expensive cross-site analytics. The architecture supports buffered store-and-forward for intermittent connectivity, unlimited cardinality, and cost-efficient long-term storage via object storage, enabling predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and industrial AI use cases.
